It’s been described as a new adaptation of the Stephen King story, rather than a remake of the 1984 film.

RLJE Films has announced that it will release the latest CHILDREN OF THE CORN theatrically on March 3, followed by VOD and digital debuts March 21. Shot in Australia in 2020, it was written and directed by Kurt Wimmer (ULTRAVIOLET, SPELL) and stars Elena Kampouris, Kate Moyer, Callan Mulvey, Bruce Spence (THE ROAD WARRIOR), Stephen Hunter, Erika Heynatz, Anna Samson, Sisi Stringer and Andrew S. Gilbert. The synopsis: “Possessed by a spirit in a dying cornfield, a twelve-year-old girl in Nebraska recruits the other children in her small town to go on a bloody rampage and kill all the adults and anyone else who opposes her. A bright high schooler who won’t go along with the plan is the town’s only hope of survival.”
