Saban Films announced today that it has grabbed North American rights to the new WRONG TURN from Munich’s Constantin Film; a release date has yet to be determined. Previously announced as WRONG TURN: THE FOUNDATION, the film was directed by Mike P. Nelson (THE DOMESTICS) from a script by Alan B. McElroy, who also wrote the 2003 original film. The cast is headed by Charlotte Vega (THE LODGERS), Matthew Modine (STRANGER THINGS, 47 METERS DOWN), Damian Maffei (THE STRANGERS: PREY AT NIGHT) and Bill Sage (WE ARE WHAT WE ARE). According to the official synopsis, “WRONG TURN follows a group of friends hiking the Appalachian Trail, who are confronted by ‘The Foundation,’ a community of people who have lived in the mountains for hundreds of years.” We’ll keep you posted on when the remake will be taking its TURN in theaters.
