“VIKING WOLF,” Asian horror, Christopher Landon’s latest get February dates for Netflix

Horror from all over the world will begin streaming next month.

Netflix has announced its February 2023 slate, including some international genre titles. First up, debuting February 3, is VIKING WOLF (VIKINGULVEN, pictured), a Norwegian lycanthropicture directed by Stig Svendsen from a script he wrote with Espen Aukan (TROLL). Elli Müller Osborne, Liv Mjönes (MIDSOMMAR), Arthur Hakalahti, Mia Fosshaug Laubacher, Vidar Magnussen, Sjur Vatne Brean and Øyvind Brandtzæg star; the synopsis: “After witnessing a grotesque murder at a party in her new town, a teenager starts having strange visions and bizarre desires.” You can find more info and check out the trailer here.

A pair of Asian chillers are up next. February 14 sees the Netflix premiere of RE-MEMBER (KARADA SAGASHI), from Japanese director Eiichiro Hasumi and starring Kanna Hashimoto (SAILOR SUIT AND MACHINE GUN: GRADUATION), Gordon Maeda, Maika Yamamoto, Fuju Kamio, Kotaro Daigo, Mayuu Yokota, Shuntaro Yanagi, Naomi Nishida (GODZILLA 2000) and Tasuku Emoto. The synopsis: “Six high schoolers stuck in a murderous time loop must find the scattered remains of an unknown victim to break the curse and finally see another day.” See its Netflix page here. Then on February 17, UNLOCKED makes its debut, a Korean adaptation of a best-selling novel directed by Kim Tae-joon and starring Chun Woo-hee, Yim Si-wan, Kim Hie-won, Park Ho-san, Kim Ye-won and Jeon Jin-oh. The synopsis: “A woman’s life is turned upside down when a dangerous man gets a hold of her lost cell phone and uses it to track her every move.” This film’s Netflix page with trailer can be found here.

And for something completely different, Netflix will bring WE HAVE A GHOST (pictured below) to home screens February 24. Written and directed by Christopher Landon (HAPPY DEATH DAY, FREAKY), it stars David Harbour (STRANGER THINGS), Anthony Mackie (SYNCHRONIC), Jahi Di’Allo Winston, Tig Notaro, Erica Ash, Jennifer Coolidge, Faith Ford, Niles Fitch, Isabella Russo and Steve Coulter. The synopsis: “After finding a ghost with a murky past haunting their new house, a family becomes internet sensations — and the targets of a shadowy government agency.” The Netflix page is here.
