The trend of iconic horror characters hacking their way into your favorite video games doesn’t appear to be slowing down any time soon, but this latest cameo isn’t one that anybody saw coming. Chucky, months removed from a starring role in asymmetrical slaughter sim Dead by Daylight, pulls on the overalls once again for a turn in Roblox.

The billon-dollar DIY game/programming app is about to find its user-generated maps a little bloodier, thanks to the newly released GRIEFVILLE: SURVIVE THE NIGHTMARE! experience.

Today, video game agency and developer RocketRide Games and Universal Products & Experiences are thrilled to announce the launch of GRIEFVILLE: SURVIVE THE NIGHTMARE!, a chilling interactive experience inspired by the beloved horror classic films of the ’80s and ’90s coming to Roblox today. Prepare to step into a pixelated nightmare where nostalgia meets heart-pounding chills via the platform’s Game Fund program.
GRIEFVILLE: SURVIVE THE NIGHTMARE! offers an unrivaled experience. featuring Universal’s horror icon Chucky. This world will bring in beloved horror films on a rotating basis, reaching fans and users who grew up with the very horror icons the game pays homage to. Users are launched into Griefville, surrounded by creepy graveyards and haunted by nightmares that suck you into quests packed with gruesome characters, often from iconic horror franchises. Players will explore an ever-expanding map with future updates featuring familiar locations inspired by horror films.

Play as Chucky
For a limited time, users can unleash Chucky’s mayhem as fans turn into the infamous serial killer himself to stalk and eliminate other users with terrifying speed or, on the flip side, try to survive his murderous escapades.

Chucky will be integrated as a nightmare experience where users can either play as Chucky and hunt others or as a victim running away from the madness and trying to survive. Chucky can use regular attacks or a special skill allowing the killer doll to jump on the victims’ back!

Interestingly, the announcement mentions that “beloved horror films” will be swapped in on a “rotating basis,” offering up dream scenarios for those with the time and talent to drop horror’s biggest names in. To celebrate the killer doll’s Roblox debut, 10,000 in-game character backpacks have been made available, awarded upon completing daily challenges.
