When there’s no more room in the city, the dead will walk the beaches – or at least they do in the new HAUS expansion for Dead Island 2. Released earlier this year, Dambuster Studios’ bloody sandbox sequel capped off a nearly decade-long developmental hell and was an instant success, generating favor with critics and players alike, who snapped up a cool million copies in the first 72 hours of release. And for those who’ve spent the last eight months painting the town of HELL-A red with gristle and grue, the upcoming expansion offers new content to chew on.

Lose yourself in a surreal, psycho-horror dreamscape as you investigate a mysterious cult in Malibu with Dead Island 2 Haus, the first story expansion for Dead Island 2. Dead Island 2 Haus takes players to a completely new story, where a secret billionaire’s techno-death cult fights for survival amidst the Zompocalypse.

Haus is a paragon of a new future as prophesied by their enigmatic leader, Konstantin. Players will battle through Haus, with new weapons and cards as they face legions of zombies intent on their slaughter. Haus is set in a completely new location, a mysterious and stylish villa in Malibu where the boundaries of morality are pushed to the limit. This nightmarish location serves as both a sanctuary and a machine to strip away flesh and harvest the soul. Players will weave through the deranged labyrinth of biomes where rational architecture is subverted by expanding narrative spaces.

Dead Island 2’s charm is due in no small part to the symphony of destruction that gamers can unleash through an extensive assortment of weapons. HAUS expands upon that catalog of slicey and smashy things with the following:

• K-ROSSBOW – Crafted for precision and lethality. Unleash devastating long-range firepower and explode zombified brains with ease.
• Hog Roaster – The ultimate ticket to visceral slaying whilst you simultaneously butcher and BBQ zombies.
• Dead Islands – To take the weight off your shoulders as you smash the undead enemies into oblivion.
• Eight New Skill Cards will embellish the player’s slayer with an expanded arsenal of skills.

While pricing for the standalone HAUS DLC hasn’t been announced as of this writing, those who own either the physical HELL-A edition or the digital-only Gold edition will have access when the DLC goes live on November 2. For everyone else, the $29.99 expansion pass offers up not only HAUS but also one additional expansion to be released early next year.

Dead Island 2 is currently available for purchase on PC, Playstation and Xbox consoles. The HAUS DLC releases on November 2nd across all platforms.
