The genre-disc specialist’s upcoming package brings together 18 features and an acclaimed chronicle of how they were made.

Severin Films will release the Blu-ray set EXORCISMO: DEFYING A DICTATOR & RAISING HELL IN POST-FRANCO SPAIN January 27, 2026. It spotlights a cinematic rebellion in the 1970s during which Spanish filmmakers pushed back against the censorious restrictions of General Franco following his death. Their movies were released with the new Clasificada “S” rating, which put them off limits to audiences under 18. The set leads off with the feature-length documentary EXORCISMO: THE TRANSGRESSIVE LEGACY OF CLASIFICADA “S”, written and directed by Alberto Sedano and narrated by Iggy Pop. It also includes the new 168-page book EXORCI“S”MO!, containing new essays by Alberto Sedano, Alejandro Melero, Álex Mendíbil, Shelagh Rowan-Legg and Daniel Kowalski, plus poster/stills galleries and more.
