  • Prime Video and Blumhouse Television launch RUN SWEETHEART RUN (pictured) globally October 28. Directed by Shana Feste from a script she wrote with Keith Josef Adkins and Kellee Terrell, it stars Ella Balinska, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Pilou Asbaek, Clark Gregg, Dayo Okeniyi and Betsy Brandt. The synopsis: “Initially apprehensive when her boss insists she meet with one of his most important clients, single mom Cherie [Balinska] is relieved and excited when she meets charismatic Ethan [Asbaek]. The influential businessman defies expectations and sweeps Cherie off her feet. But at the end of the night, when the two are alone together, he reveals his true, violent nature. Battered and terrified, she flees for her life, beginning a relentless game of cat-and-mouse with a bloodthirsty assailant hell-bent on her utter destruction. In this edge-of-your-seat dark thriller, Cherie finds herself in the crosshairs of a conspiracy stranger and more evil than she could have ever imagined.”

  • Also on October 28, RLJE Films and Shudder are bringing THE LAIR, the latest from writer/director Neil Marshall (THE DESCENT, DOG SOLDIERS), to theaters and VOD/digital platforms. The cast is headed by Charlotte Kirk, Jonathan Howard and Jamie Bamber; the synopsis: “When Royal Air Force pilot Lt. Kate Sinclair [Kirk] is shot down over Afghanistan, she finds refuge in an abandoned underground bunker where deadly man-made biological weapons–half human, half alien–are awakened.”

Actor Noah Segan (DEADGIRL, STARRY EYES) wrote, directed and has the lead role in the film, with Victoria Romoles co-starring. The synopsis: “Francis [Segan], a 115-year-old Yiddish vampire, still looks 35. He’s been roaming American backroads in his beat-up muscle car for decades, keeping to himself, and liking it that way. One day, a teenage kid, Jane [Moroles], shows up. She says she’s his daughter, and she’s got the fangs to prove it. They go on the road, deciding whether to sink their teeth into family life.”

  • Cineworx and Mezek Films have WOLF HOLLOW headed for a premiere in spring 2023. Mark Cantu directed and scripted from a story by Brian Ceponis, and the movie stars fear favorites Felissa Rose, Hannah Fierman (V/H/S) and Lynn Lowry along with Brian Ceponis, Christina Krakowski, Noah Welter, Brandon Krum, Jess Uhler, Kamarra Cole, Spencer Madison, Lucas Dunaway and Jordan Ploskina.
