An international team of directors came together to create the stories told during THE 100 CANDLES GAME, produced by New Zealand’s Black Mandala company.
Argentinean filmmaker Nicolás Onetti (ABRAKADABRA) served as GAME’s creative director and produced it with Michael Kraetzer. Guillermo Lockhart, who scripted the film with novelist Mauro Croche, helmed the wraparound scenes, which feature Amy Smart (MIRRORS, the CRANK duo), Magui Bravi, Clara Kovacic, James Wright and Agustin Olcic. The other directors involved are Víctor Català, Daniel Ruebesam, Tony Morales, Nicholas Peterson, Oliver Garland, Brian Deane and Christopher West. The synopsis: “A group of friends must confront their fears in a terrifying game. They must sit by the other players in a circle made of a hundred candles, take one of them and tell a horror story. As stories are told and candles get blown, strange events will start to happen. They will feel strange presences around them, lurking in the shadows. But they must not leave the game or else a terrible curse will fall upon them…”
