David Bruckner, part of the directorial team behind the techno-fright film THE SIGNAL and creator of the most disturbing segment of the anthology SOUTHBOUND, is the solo helmer on Netflix’s upcoming THE RITUAL. A trailer and poster have just been unveiled.

Premiering on the streaming service February 9, THE RITUAL was scripted by Joe Barton from the novel by Adam Nevill, and stars Rafe Spall (PROMETHEUS), Robert James-Collier, Arsher Ali, Sam Troughton, Paul Reid and Kerri McLean, with makeup effects by Josh and Sierra Russell (SOUTHBOUND, BEYOND THE GATE). The synopsis: “Reuniting after the tragic death of their best mate, four old friends from university set out to hike through the Scandinavian wilderness. But a wrong turn leads them into the dark and mysterious forests of Norse legend, where an ancient evil still exists and stalks them at every turn.”
