They’re calling it “a darkly comedic psychological thriller,” but we know better…
20th Century Studios will release SEND HELP to theaters nationwide January 30. Directed by Sam Raimi from a script by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift (FREDDY VS. JASON, FRIDAY THE 13TH 2009), it stars Rachel McAdams (RED EYE), Dylan O’Brien, Edyll Ismail, Dennis Haysbert, Xavier Samuel (THE LOVED ONES), Chris Pang, Thaneth Warakulnukroh and Emma Raimi. The synopsis: “Linda Liddle [McAdams] and Bradley Preston [O’Brien] are two colleagues who find themselves stranded on a deserted island after they are the only survivors of a plane crash. On the island, they must overcome past grievances and work together to survive, but ultimately, it is an unsettling and darkly humorous battle of wills and wits to make it out alive.”
“I’ve always loved stories where interesting, dynamic characters are pushed to extremes,” says Raimi. “In our story, the power shifts create an escalating situation that’s brimming with unexpected turns and suspense.” And from the just-released trailer, it looks like things get quite nasty indeed…
