Kneehigh Horror has been operating since 2009 when its creator Shawn Fairhurst debuted the business’ first creation, “The Mini Horror Standup” (mini versions of the cardboard standups for upcoming films that are featured in theatres).
In 2016, Kneehigh Horror shifted gears and started creating original artwork for enamel pins and t-shirts, along with the already popular line of mini standups. Here are a few samples that caught my eye:
GUNNIE SPLITFACE PIN – This 1.75 inches tall quality enamel pin was designed off a sticker that Mr. Fairhurst created shortly after Gunnar Hansen (best known for playing the original Leatherface in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) passed away. What makes this pin so special is the fact that it pays tribute to both the actor and character. This pin is limited to 100 and is priced just under $11 CDN (plus shipping).
YOU’VE GOT RED ON YOU PIN SET – Both Shaun and Zombie Ed custom enamel pins are 1.75 inches tall and celebrate the British horror-comedy Shaun of the Dead, the movie that forever changed the way we look at a zombie apocalypse. This set would be great for fans of the film or of zombies in general. This set is limited to 100 and is in stock and ready to go for just over $20 CDN (plus shipping).
XENO DESTROYER PIN – Fans of the 1986 Aliens film are sure to remember Private First Class Jenette Vasquez (Jenette Goldstein) as the smart gun operator with a sarcastic sense of humour. Fairhurst had taken a great deal of time to perfect this pin, with the intention of presenting it to the actress herself at an event she was attending (sadly, the pins arrived two weeks late). There are three variants available XENO DESTROYER (limited to 25), XENO DESTROYER MEDAL VARIANT (limited to 20), and XENO DESTROYER GLITTER VARIANT (limited to 20). These custom pins are all two inches tall and are all in stock with each (individually) priced at under $17 CDN (plus shipping).
IT HURTS TO BE DEAD T-SHIRT – This Return of the Living Dead (1985) custom t-shirt sports artwork by the artist only known as “Crom” and is great to show off collector’s zombie adoration. This t-shirt is available in sizes large to XXL and is priced under $30 CDN (plus shipping).
Kneehigh Horror has something for every horror fan to feast on, from John Carpenter’s The Fog mini standup to the one inspired by Dusk Till Dawn. Open all night t-shirt which features Cheech Marin’s character Chet Pussy quotes. There’s literally just too many amazing things to name, but one things for sure, you’ll remember the name Kneehigh Horror. Beginning this month, the company will be offering embroided patches based on popular movies, music and television shows, so keep an eye out for those.
