The reboot trilogy is set to launch this summer.
Lionsgate has set a May 31 theatrical release date for THE STRANGERS: CHAPTER ONE, the first film in a STRANGERS TRILOGY that was shot simultaneously last year. The relaunch of the scenario begun by Bryan Bertino’s hit THE STRANGERS in 2008, with Johannes Roberts’ THE STRANGERS: PREY AT NIGHT following in 2018, was directed by Renny Harlin and scripted by Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland. CHAPTER ONE stars Madelaine Petsch, Froy Guitierrez, Gabriel Basso, Ema Horvath; according to the official synopsis, Petsch plays “a young woman starting a new life with her fiancé. Suddenly, during a road trip stop in a remote vacation rental in the woods, they become the prey of a mysterious gang of masked strangers who attack without warning or reason. What begins as a fight to stay alive becomes one woman’s journey of courage and cunning in this horror series bridging three compelling films.”
