The mad doctors are in, and on the FrightFest 2023 poster

The UK’s largest showcase of scary cinema has its official art.

FrightFest 2023, which will take place at London’s Cineworld Leicester Square Thursday, August 24-Monday, August 28, has unveiled its poster, by iconic British artist Graham Humphreys. It features the 15th appearance of his Monster character, and he explains, “This year’s FrightFest poster shares its theme with the annual FrightFest book, exploring the subject of mad doctors. Once again, my artwork needed to be built in multiple parts that could be dismantled and rearranged across different formats, allowing individual elements to work on their own. RE-ANIMATOR’s Herbert West is clearly referenced by the FrightFest ghoul. He is surrounded by a series of classic mad doctors in film. Unsurprisingly, they are all men!”

The lineup of movies showing at FrightFest 2023 will be revealed Thursday, July 13. For more information on the festival, head over to its official website.
