The 1987 vampire hit THE LOST BOYS spawned a pair of direct-to-video sequels and talk of a Frog Brothers TV series that never materialized, and now it’s headed back to the small screen.

Variety reports that the CW (which has previously hosted THE VAMPIRE DIARIES and its spinoffs THE ORIGINALS and LEGACIES) has ordered a LOST BOYS pilot, to be written and executive-produced by Heather Mitchell, whose numerous TV credits include SCANDAL, MEDIUM and ELEVENTH HOUR. The storyline essentially follows that of the original movie: Two teenage brothers move with their recently widowed mom to the California seaside town of Santa Carla. While hanging out at the boardwalk, they discover that the area is inhabited by a group of eternally youthful vampires who try to lure them into joining their ranks. No other talent has been announced as of now.
