A pair of young actors have joined Naomi Watts in the reboot of the acclaimed Austrian shocker.

Amazon Studios, Animal Kingdom and Playtime have announced the casting of Cameron Crovetti and Nicholas Crovetti (BIG LITTLE LIES) in the new GOODNIGHT MOMMY, currently shooting in New Jersey. Matt Sobel is directing from a script by Kyle Warren, and Severin Fiala and Veronika Franz, who wrote and directed the original, are executive-producing with Watts, Sobel and Warren. Jeremy Bobb, Crystal Lucas-Perry and Peter Hermann co-star in the film; the synopsis: “The story follows twin brothers [the Crovettis] who arrive at their mother’s [Watts] country home to discover her face covered in bandages–the result, she explains, of recent cosmetic surgery. As her behavior grows increasingly erratic and unusual, however, a horrifying question takes root in the boys’ minds. What if the woman beneath the gauze–who’s making their meals and sleeping in the next room–isn’t their mother at all?” Amazon Studios will handle worldwide release, with a U.S. debut date yet to be announced.
