The director of some ’80s classics is helming his first feature since 2004.

Jack Sholder, whose credits include the 1982 ALONE IN THE DARK, A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 2: FREDDY’S REVENGE and THE HIDDEN, is gearing up to shoot FEAR THE NIGHT, about a female vampire. He posted on Facebook today, “I developed the script with screenwriter Joshua Russell, and like all good vampire movies, it’s about a lot more than vampires. The script turned out extremely well, and I’m totally energized about making it. We’re shooting in September/October with an exciting mix of old hands and new talent. No casting yet, but we’re starting that process now.”

In addition to the abovementioned trio, Sholder directed the actioner RENEGADES, WISHMASTER 2: EVIL NEVER DIES, ARACHNID and episodes of TALES FROM THE CRYPT and the TREMORS series. His last movie was the made-for-cable shark thriller 12 DAYS OF TERROR. We’ll bring you more on FEAR THE NIGHT as we find it out!
