“THE BRIDE!” Looks For Love With Cryptic Toronto Billboards

Visitors to Sankofa Square and Richmond & Spadina were recently greeted with a pair of unexpected and most unusual questions. Cryptic billboards have popped up at the busy Toronto intersections, reading, “Emotionally scarred and looking for love?” and “Is your love life lacking a pulse?” The messages include a hotline number (855-BRIDE-DR) to reach Dr. Euphronious, the scientist-matchmaker from Maggie Gyllenhaal‘s upcoming horror film, THE BRIDE. Callers are greeted by a vintage-style receptionist message highlighting the film’s release date, along with a surprise call-to-action for a chance to win special prizes.

Described as a “bold, punk rock take on Mary Shelley‘s classic Frankenstein story,” THE BRIDE! finds a lovelorn Frankenstein’s monster searching for a mate in 1930s Chicago. The creature (and the world) get much more than they bargained for when a murdered woman is resurrected by the mad Dr. Euphronious. Jessie Buckley and Christian Bale star.

Warner Bros. THE BRIDE! opens exclusively in theaters on March 6.
