RUE MORGUE attended Terror Con 2023 out in Marlborough, MA this year, and the venue was huge. Held at the Royal Plaza Trade Center from September 15th to September 17th, the guest list was stacked. Celebs were set up at booths lining the walls of the large venue, and in the middle were rows upon rows of glorious horror merch from Neca and Pop! Funko figures, paintings, and signed memorabilia, even vintage figures in original packaging. It was like a giant toy store for the macabre!

Seriously, I can’t overstate the amount of merch that was available at this convention. It was insane. Everywhere you looked, there was something to pique your interest. Cosplayers were in abundance, showing off their favorite characters. My favorite of the day had to be these Yautja cosplayers, Jason LaBella, and Lakota Sousa. Sick costumes, with amazing detail!

The main attraction was definitely Robert Englund. His line was non-stop, the entire time. That is not an overstatement. It never stopped. The fans absolutely love Robert, and for good reason. He’s always such a nice guy taking time to chat, and well, he’s Freddy Krueger. There was even a designated spot for fans to drop off their “gloves” to get signed! Photo ops were also available, along with posters and other memorabilia that you could have signed in person.

Also in attendance was Heather Langenkamp, AKA “Nancy” from A Nightmare on Elm St. She was kind enough to let us snap a pic, even though was extremely busy.

We got to say “hi” to Lisa Wilcox, who played “Alice” in the A Nightmare on Elm St. series. She’s always awesome!

The legend herself, Amanda Bearse! You may know her as “Amy Peterson,” from Fright Night, or from a little sitcom in the late 80s to mid-90s called Married with Children, where she played the iconic role of feisty neighbor and Al Bundy’s nemesis – “Marcy Darcy.”

Mark Patton of A Nightmare on Elm St Pt. 2 fame was in attendance. You may also know him from the documentary Scream Queen: My Nightmare on Elm St. He let us snap this awesome pic at his booth! Super nice guy.

We got to chat briefly with Melinda Clarke! Melinda has been in so many things, from Days of Our Lives, to The O.C., and C.S.I. but my introduction to her was Return of the Living Dead Pt 3. She was also in Entourage.

Sean Patrick Flannery is a name that most people will be familiar with. He took a moment out of his time to say hi and chat briefly. You might know him from The Boondock Saints, Powder, or “Young Indy” in The Young Indiana Jones TV series.

Growing up, my favorite action movie was Terminator 2: Judgement Day, so Edward Furlong was a pleasure to meet!

Terror Con was a scary good time, and definitely a hot spot for great horror goodies this year! Rows upon rows of glorious horror merch, with a great group of celebs in attendance! Click here to see the full guest list, and be sure to keep your eye out for their 2024 lineup.
