Ted Raimi pours cocktails in eerie trailer for “Your Dearest Darkest Friend”

Pull up a chair, take the drink you’re offered and try not to stare at the puppets. Screambox has unveiled the official trailer for Your Dearest Darkest Friend, the eerie new talk show hosted by genre stalwart Ted Raimi, and the streamer has locked in a fittingly sinister premiere date: Devil’s Night, October 30.

The premise: Raimi invites horror’s greatest minds into his spooky manor for intimate conversations, signature cocktails and curious discoveries, with genre legends and rising stars mingling alongside the house’s peculiar puppet residents. Think of it as a late-night chat show by way of a haunted parlor, where the host gets behind the personas of his guests to dig into the people, stories and inspirations behind the genre’s most memorable nightmares.

The first season of Your Dearest Darkest Friend runs six half-hour episodes, each featuring one or two guests from across the horror industry, from actors and filmmakers to FX artists. Raimi, a self-described mixologist, plays bartender throughout, whipping up specialty cocktails and mocktails for his company. When the Screambox original was first ordered, the series was pitched in the vein of Dinner for Five, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee and Club Random, only with a decidedly darker flair. Adding to the macabre mischief, the crew behind The Last Podcast on the Left lend their voices to the manor’s puppet denizens, helping Raimi with hosting duties.

Your Dearest Darkest Friend is produced by Tony Wash, Charlie Queen, Lauren Leshansky and Raimi, and wrapped production at the start of September.
