Teaser trailer and poster for “BACKROOMS” are appropriately minimalist

The creepy atmosphere of the viral sensation is coming to the big screen.

A24 will release the feature-film version of BACKROOMS May 29. Based on the series of web shorts by Kane Parsons (a.k.a. Kane Pixels) about the discovery of a mysterious Complex of eerie rooms, it was directed by Parsons and written by Will Soodik. Chiwetel Ejiofor, Renate Reinsve, Mark Duplass, Finn Bennett and Lukita Maxwell star; according to the official synopsis, the story is triggered when “A strange doorway appears in the basement of a furniture showroom.”
