The director of the acclaimed THE WAILING and THE CHASER pulls out all the stops in his latest feature.

Neon has released the first teaser trailer for HOPE, which it will release theatrically this fall and which just world-premiered to enthusiastic reviews at the Cannes Film Festival. The preview promises plenty of extravagant, big-scale action well beyond the more personally focused intensity of writer/director Na Hong-jin’s previous winners THE WAILING and THE CHASER. It stars Hwang Jung-min, Zo In-sung, Hoyeon, Taylor Russell, Cameron Britton, Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender. The synopsis: “In the remote South Korea village of Hope Harbor, police chief Bum-seok [Hwang] and officer Sung-ae [Hoyeon] are called to find a mysterious creature that has wreaked havoc on the village. In the nearby forest, a coterie of hunters, including Sung-ki [Zo] set out to track the beast and find themselves hunted instead. But all is not as it seems, and perceptions can be misleading. What begins as ignorance plants the seed of disaster, escalating through human conflict into a tragedy of cosmic proportions.”
