Take a virtual peek of the Newly Opened “1313 Mockingbird Lane” toy and collectible shop

The newly opened 1313 MOCKINGBIRD LANE Toys & Collectibles store is a passion project from the owner and longtime collector Terry Taylor. Despite its namesake, the store is located at 1021 1/4 Massachusetts St. in Lawrence, Kansas and is a hidden gem for collectors of modern and retro toys. Taylor, a 30 year collector, accumulated many of his while on the road touring as a musician. Years later he realized he had multiples, and the idea of opening a toy store was born, one that would be an homage to his favourite television show, The Munsters.

Inside, visitors will find shelves stocked of 90% of toys collected by Taylor over the years. Newer toys by NECA, Mezco, and contemporary releases also can be found among its mostly vintage catalogue; try to go home empty handed!

1313 Mockingbird Lane also makes it a point to give local artists a voice, and Taylor regularly stocks their wares in the store. A few examples of local artists include Slasher Design, known for design work on Fright Rags and Scream Factory releases, and glass artist RS Press.

1313 Mockingbird Lane already has its very own comic book and a glow in the dark action figure based off the comic thanks to local artists Gabriel D Dorsey (comic book) and Brian Holton (glow in the dark action figure), find these for sale within the glorious walls of the store. Finally, local taxidermy artist Flawed Fox Creations, which specializes in creating animals which have passed away naturally into pieces of art and jewelry and other exciting pieces such as Werewolf hunting kits (created with help by Terry Taylor) can all be found for sale in the store.

There’s something for every horror collector, or casual fan, within the walls of 1313 Mockingbird Lane. Rediscover your childhood with horror collectibles from the past and introduce yourselves to new artists and collectibles, oddities and curiosities’ that can be found here.
