The remake/homage to the Herschell Gordon Lewis gore landmark is coming early next year.
Synapse Films will give Marcel Walz’s new BLOOD FEAST its first U.S. home video review, in its uncut version on 4K UHD and Blu-ray, streeting January 16, 2024. Written by Philip Lilienschwarz, with makeup effects by Ryan Nicholson and Megan Nicholson, it stars Robert Rusler (A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 2), Caroline Williams (TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2), Sophie Monk, Sadie Katz, Max Evans and Roland Freitag. The synopsis: “Fuad Ramses [Rusler] and his family have moved from the United States to France, where they run an American-themed diner. Since business is not going well, Fuad also works the graveyard shift in a museum of ancient Egyptian culture. During these long nights, he is repeatedly drawn to a statue representing the seductive goddess, Ishtar. As his fascination with Ishtar grows, she begins speaking to him in visions. One night, Fuad succumbs to her deadly charms and begins a new life of murder and cannibalism. He prepares a lavish feast for Ishtar dripping with the blood, organs and intestines of his victims. As the bodies pile up, Fuad slips further into madness until no one…not even his wife and daughter…is safe from the desires of the bloodthirsty goddess!”
The all-region discs will present the movie in 2.35:1 widescreen (2160p and Dolby Vision on the UHD, 1080p on the Blu-ray), with DTS-HD MA 5.1 Stereo Surround audio on both. Special features are:
