It’s headed for streaming release later this year.
Cinedigm has announced that it has picked up North American rights to PENSIVE, and will unleash the movie via Bloody Disgusting’s streaming platform SCREAMBOX on a date to be determined in 2023. Directed by Jonas Trukanas from a script he wrote with Titus Laucius, it stars Sarunas Rapolas Meliesius, Marius Repsys, Gabija Bargailaite and Povilas Jatkevicius. The synopsis: “Inspired by local legends, PENSIVE follows a group of privileged high school classmates. After these classmates destroy a set of life-size wooden statues during a wild graduation party, a mysterious killer begins picking the group off one by one.”
“Gory and glorious, PENSIVE is a gritty throwback to the ’80s and the heyday of slasher cinema,” says Bloody Disgusting’s Brad Miska. “Calling back to FRIDAY THE 13TH, the filmmakers took what was great about that era and give it a refreshing lift with the infusion of Eastern European folklore.” See the movie’s original trailer below.
