A mysterious presence is preying on the residents of a remote island in the new chiller ISLAND ZERO, and a woman discovers the gruesome remains of one victim in an exclusive excerpt you can see after the jump.

Coming to VOD next Tuesday, May 15 from Freestyle Digital Media, ISLAND ZERO was directed by Josh Gerritsen and written by his mother, best-selling author Tess Gerritsen, whose books were the basis for the hit TV series RIZZOLI & ISLES. The cast is headed by Laila Robins (EYE IN THE SKY), Adam Wade McLaughlin, Teri Reeves and Matthew Wilkas; the synopsis: “Inhabitants of a fishing island off the coast of Maine find themselves mysteriously cut off from the outside world after the ferry suddenly stops coming. All the phones have gone dead and every boat sent to the mainland fails to return. When dead bodies turn up along the water’s edge, the hardy band of survivors must find out who, or what, is killing them.”
