Shot under pandemic restrictions, Matt Leal and Matthew Festle’s horror film is about a podcast gone wrong, and the latter shared some exclusive pics and a few words about its creation.

3 Keys Media and Flick Fantatics Audio have announced that Blu-rays and DVDs of their film HACKED are now available for pre-order. Leal and Festle directed, and produced with Alexys Paonessa; Matthew and John Festle scripted. Matthew Festle, Jackson Turner, Shawn C. Phillips, Alan Maxson and Thom Mulligan star; the synopsis: “Michael and Darren have a very successful true crime podcast. But when trying to get one of their biggest guests yet turns into a bizarre obsession for Michael, the lines between nightmare and reality begin to blur.”

“We initially wrote the story to involve two characters in a scene tops,” Matthew Festle tells RUE MORGUE, “because of the precautions necessary to keep everyone safe. Some of the scenes are Zoom calls that revolve around the podcast, while the others are in person. Fortunately, the crew for HACKED are roommates, which made scheduling and shooting a little more manageable.”

The Blu-ray and DVD, which each come with a limited-edition poster of the artwork by Brutal Posters’ Chris Barnes, are scheduled to ship in mid-September and can be pre-ordered here
