The three-time Academy Award nominee is taking the helm of a topical chiller.
Blumhouse has announced that top screenwriter John Logan will take his maiden voyage as director on WHISTLER CAMP, a horror film/queer empowerment story set at a gay conversion camp. Jason Blum and Michael Aguilar will produce, with Ryan Turek as the overseeing creative executive; casting is currently underway. Logan received Oscar nods for Martin Scorsese’s HUGO and THE AVIATOR and Ridley Scott’s GLADIATOR; his credits also include the James Bond blockbuster SKYFALL, Tim Burton’s SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET, Scott’s ALIEN: COVENANT, THE LAST SAMURAI and ANY GIVEN SUNDAY; he also created and executive-produced Showtime’s supernatural series PENNY DREADFUL and last year’s follow-up show PENNY DREADFUL: CITY OF ANGELS. We’ll keep you posted on further details about this one!
