Several cast members and the effects creator have also been announced for the holiday horror reboot.
Cineverse and its horror division Bloody Disgusting have announced the start of production in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada on SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT, its new version of the notorious 1984 Christmas slasher film. The movie is set for wide release December 12, 2025, with Mike P. Nelson (WRONG TURN, V/H/S/85) writing and directing. Rohan Campbell (THE MONKEY, HALLOWEEN ENDS) stars as Billy Campbell, the young man who psychologically snaps and goes on a bloody rampage wearing a Santa Claus suit. Also in the cast are Ruby Modine (the HAPPY DEATH DAY duo) as Pamela, Mark Acheson, David Lawrence Brown, and David Tomlinson; Doug Morrow (CLOWN IN A CORNFIELD) is handling the special effects.
“SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT has become a beloved cult classic since my partner Dennis [Whitehead] and I created it with Michael Hickey over 40 years ago,” says original SILENT NIGHT producer Scott Schneid, who returns with Whitehead as two of the producers on the remake. “Den and I are huge fans of Mike [Nelson]’s work, and his unique talents have reinvented the spirit of the original, taking us on a slayride that audiences won’t soon forget.”
