Shooting wraps on woodsy suspense thriller “DEATH AMONG THE PINES”

The film is now crowdfunding for postproduction and marketing.

Flickering Myth and Shepka Productions have followed up last year’s Gothic horror feature THE BABY IN THE BASKET with DEATH AMONG THE PINES, which just completed filming. Nathan Shepka directed from a screenplay by Tom Jolliffe, and the cast is headed by Nicolette McKeown, Shepka, Stephen Kerr and Olly Bassi; the synopsis: “In a remote farmhouse in the Scottish countryside, housewife Angela [McKeown] receives a knock on her door from a damp and dirty stranger [Shepka] claiming to have burst a tyre and seeking refuge from a storm. Angela warily lets him in to seek shelter, but her suspicions are aroused when she learns the local police are conducting a manhunt for an escaped killer. Matters are complicated further when a police officer turns up asking questions, not only about the fugitive, but the whereabouts of Angela’s suspiciously absent husband Eddie [Bassi].”

“We are excited to be teaming up with Flickering Myth and Tom Jolliffe again on a tense, tightly wound thriller geared for streaming audiences,” says Shepka. “The hope was that THE BABY IN THE BASKET would be the start of many fruitful collaborations.”

“Flickering Myth is delighted to be turning its focus to our next collaboration with Shepka Productions and Jolliffe Productions,” adds producer/Flickering Myth CEO Gary Collinson. “We look forward to sharing more details and insight into DEATH AMONG THE PINES with audiences over the coming months.”

The filmmakers have launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise funds for finishing the movie, marketing and festival submissions; check it out here.
