The Deadites are stalking fresh turf in Sam Raimi and co.’s latest shocker.
EVIL DEAD RISE, from New Line Cinema and Renaissance Pictures and written and directed by Lee Cronin (THE HOLE IN THE GROUND), will be released to North American theaters April 21 and international venues April 19 by Warner Bros. Original creators Raimi, Bruce Campbell and Rob Tapert serve as executive producers (Raimi and Campbell) and producer (Tapert), and the film stars Lily Sullivan, Alyssa Sutherland, Morgan Davies, Gabrielle Echols and Nell Fisher. The synopsis: “Moving the action out of the woods and into the city, EVIL DEAD RISE tells a twisted tale of two estranged sisters, played by Sutherland and Sullivan, whose reunion is cut short by the rise of flesh-possessing demons, thrusting them into a primal battle for survival as they face the most nightmarish version of family imaginable.” And yes, chainsaws are involved, as seen in the photo below.
