Satisfy “THE ADDICTION” with Arrow’s Blu-ray of Abel Ferrara’s cult favorite; info and art

After a driller killer and a female vigilante, Abel Ferrara turned vampires loose in New York City in 1995’s THE ADDICTION. Arrow Video has a new Blu-ray special edition coming for the U.S., UK and Canada; read on for the details and cover art.

Shot in atmospheric black-and-white, THE ADDICTION stars Lily Taylor as a philosophy student who is bitten by a creature of the night (Annabella Sciorra) and develops a hunger for blood. Ferrara’s regular collaborator Nicholas St. John scripted, and Christopher Walken and Edie Falco also star. Arrow’s Blu-ray, streeting June 25/26, will include a new 1080p hi-def restoration from a 4K scan of the original camera negative, approved by director Abel Ferrara and director of photography Ken Kelsch, plus restored 5.1 audio and the following bonus features:

  • Audio commentary by Abel Ferrara, moderated by critic and biographer Brad Stevens
  • TALKING WITH THE VAMPURES, a new documentary about the film made by Ferrara especially for this release, featuring actors Christopher Walken and Lili Taylor, composer Joe Delia, Ken Kelsch and Ferrara himself
  • New interview with Abel Ferrara
