Disclaimer: RUE MORGUE is not responsible for anyone’s brain exploding from fright. Thank you for watching!

Charlie Woodenhead

Charlie Koleman worked at a wooden statue factory (trust me…they are huge in New Jersey). After a time, Charlie grew bored in his work and comfortable enough to let slip his true feelings for the shady things his employer did for money, and not long after, his co-workers squealed on him. To teach him a “gentle” lesson, a gang of his co-workers wearing masks descended on Charlie. Startled by the caterwauling of the gang as they bolted toward him, Charlie instinctively took off running, took a bad turn and went heels over head into the varnishing machine. At the end of the assembly line, no one could tell Charlie from the wooden bears, eagles and giant decorative clowns, so the perpetrators agreed to stay silent about the “accident” and went about their lives. In the ten years that followed, nearly every man involved in the deadly prank has turned up dead with a final look of terrifying fright frozen across their face. As far as supernatural creatures go, Charlie isn’t very fast or menacing, and truth be told, he lost an eye on his first murderous outing, but this wobbling terror sure does get the job done.

Check back here every day until Halloween for more unspeakable playthings!
