STEVE MOORE of Pittsburgh synth innovators ZOMBI has been carving out a side career in horror film scoring lately with CUB (2014) and THE MIND’S EYE (2015). Moore now returns with another hypnotizing synth-based score for the acclaimed action/horror film MAYHEM (movie reviewed in RM#179), starring Steven Yeun (THE WALKING DEAD). A musical portrait of shock and dread across seventy-plus minutes of analog synth tension, STEVE MOORE methodically crafts pulsating rhythms and penetrating arpeggios that constrict the listener into a deep sense of aural anxiety. STEVE MOORE is quickly becoming one of the most sought out synth composers in the horror realm and MAYHEM is the latest demonstration of his mastery of the style.
Rue Morgue now premieres Moore’s MAYHEM score with the track “Mine’s Bigger” which you can listen to below:
MAYHEM by STEVE MOORE is out November 24th on Relapse Records.
