Poster reaches out for Shudder doc “1000 WOMEN IN HORROR”

Female fright filmmakers will be celebrated on the streamer next month.

1000 WOMEN IN HORROR debuts on Shudder March 20. Directed by Donna Davies (PRETTY BLOODY, ZOMBIEMANIA) and written by horror historian Alexandra Heller-Nicholas (pictured above) from her book, it’s described as “A deep dive into how women pioneers revolutionized horror cinema through their groundbreaking work as directors, actors and creators since 1895, leaving an indelible mark on the genre’s evolution.” Among the interviewees are Roxanne Benjamin, Akela Cooper, Mattie Do, Brea Grant, Gigi Saul Guerrero, Mary Harron, Heller-Nicholas, Cerise Howard, Kier-La Janisse, Nikyatu Jusu, Natasha Kermani, Roseanne Liang, Annalise Lockhart, Toby Poser, Sara Risher, Lin Shaye, Kate Siegel, Chelsea Stardust, Jenn Wexler and April Wolfe.
