Official poster, U.S. release date for Michel Hazanavicius’ zombie comedy “FINAL CUT”

The remake of Shinichiro Ueda’s ONE CUT OF THE DEAD is heading for wider distribution following its Tribeca Film Festival play.

Kino Lorber revealed its poster for FINAL CUT with the word that the movie will arrive in theaters July 14. New Yorkers can catch it when it plays the Tribeca Film Festival for three screenings beginning Friday, June 9 at 8:45 p.m. Written and directed by Michel Hazanavicius, it stars Romain Duris, Bérénice Bejo, Matilda Lutz (REVENGE), Finnegan Oldfield and Grégory Gadebois. According to the official synopsis, the film “follows a director [Duris] charged with making a live, single-take, low-budget zombie flick in which the cast and crew, one by one, actually turn into zombies… FINAL CUT is a sly love letter to the art of filmmaking and a blood-soaked, hilarious genre farce with a meta-to-the-max premise.” See our FINAL CUT review here.
