The forthcoming film brings fresh mythology to the teen-horror genre.

Neon has announced that it will release Bishal Dutta’s IT LIVES INSIDE to theaters September 22. Winner of the Midnighter Audience Award at this year’s SXSW Film Festival, it’s the feature debut of writer/director Dutta and stars Megan Suri, Neeru Bajwa, Mohana Krishnan, GET OUT’s Betty Gabriel, Vik Sahay, Gage Marsh and Beatrice Kitsos. The synopsis: “Sam [Suri] is desperate to fit in at school, rejecting her Indian culture and family to be like everyone else. When a mythological demonic spirit latches onto her former best friend [Krishnan], she must come to terms with her heritage in order to defeat it.”
