It may be one of the most eagerly awaited sophomore horror features ever, and it’s coming early next summer.
Focus Features and Blumhouse-Atomic Monster have announced a May 7, 2027 nationwide release date (exclusively in theaters) for ANYTHING BUT GHOSTS, director Curry Barker’s follow-up to his sleeper smash OBSESSION. Written by Barker and longtime collaborator Cooper Tomlinson, it stars the duo along with Violet McGraw (the M3GAN films, THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE), Chris Reinacher, Bryce Dallas Howard and Aaron Paul. The synopsis: “When a group of fame-seeking wannabe ‘ghosthunters’ find themselves in over their heads, things spiral wildly and terrifyingly out of control.” The movie was produced by Blumhouse’s Jason Blum, Spooky Pictures’ Roy Lee and Steven Schneider, and Divide/Conquer’s Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath, in association with Image Nation and That’s a Bad Idea.
