NY: Michael Myers, Blacula and boogens at Hudson Horror Show 16

An especially eclectic assortment of horror and exploitation fare will be showcased at the 16th installment of the Hudson Horror Show in upstate New York, with six features screening from the ’70s and ’80s, all on 35mm.

Hudson Horror Show 16 takes place Saturday, December 16 at the Empire South Hills 8 theater (1895 South Road, Poughkeepsie, NY). The lineup includes HALLOWEEN 4: THE RETURN OF MICHAEL MYERS, the blaxploitation/fright favorite BLACULA, Renny Harlin’s supernatural shocker PRISON, the subterranean monster flick THE BOOGENS, the Linda Blair-starring revenge thriller SAVAGE STREETS and a mystery horror film. There will also be trailer reels before each feature, a vendor-table area, prizes and giveaways. The fest will be playing on two screens; doors open at 10:30 a.m., and the shows begin at 11:35 a.m. and 12:05 p.m. Tickets go on sale this Thursday, October 12 at 7 p.m. at Hudson Horror’s website; grab ’em quick because they go fast!
