Back in Rue Morgue #161 we covered Sudbury, Ontario’s Murder Murder, a six-piece string band who create a unique blend of bluegrass and outlaw country, that focuses exclusively on murder ballads. Instead of spinning tales of dark deeds down south or up in the Klondike however, Murder Murder tells of misdeeds taking place in Northern Ontario, mythologizing that part of the country’s blue collar history and rugged terrain.
The band’s latest independent record WICKED LINES AND VEINS dropped in North America last fall, but will see a European release on this January 25 timed with a tour of the continent.
