The human prey has been lined up for the xenomorph’s latest attack.

20th Century Studios has announced that production will begin on the latest ALIEN chiller March 9 in Budapest. Fede Alvarez (DON’T BREATHE, the EVIL DEAD remake) will direct from a script he wrote with regular collaborator Rodo Sayagues, and the cast is headed by Cailee Spaeny (pictured, from THE CRAFT: LEGACY and PACIFIC RIM: UPRISING), David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn and Aileen Wu. Ridley Scott, who helmed the 1979 original as well as the more recent franchise entries PROMETHEUS and ALIEN: COVENANT, is producing with Michael Pruss under their Scott Free Banner. The synopsis: “In this ninth entry in the immensely popular and enduring film series, a group of young people on a distant world find themselves in a confrontation with the most terrifying life form in the universe.” At last report, this ALIEN (official title to be announced) will be a Hulu premiere.
