Starting as a character drama and ending as a truly unnerving psychological chiller, MOST BEAUTIFUL ISLAND sees release in November following an acclaimed festival run. The official trailer has just been released.

A Glass Eye Pix production that includes Larry Fessenden among its producing team, MOST BEAUTIFUL ISLAND will be released to select theaters November 3 by Orion Pictures and Samuel Goldwyn Films. It was written and directed by Ana Asensio, who also stars in a story inspired by her own real-life experiences. The synopsis: “MOST BEAUTIFUL ISLAND is a psychological thriller set in the world of undocumented female immigrants hoping to make a life in New York City. Shot on Super 16mm with an intimate, voyeuristic sensibility, MOST BEAUTIFUL ISLAND chronicles one harrowing day in the life of Luciana [Asensio], a young immigrant woman struggling to make ends meet while striving to escape her past. As Luciana’s day unfolds, she is whisked, physically and emotionally, through a series of troublesome and unforeseeable extremes.” Natasha Romanova, David Little, Nicholas Tucci, Fessenden and Caprice Benedetti also star.
