Filmmaker Domenic Migliore invites you on a harrowing journey into the mind of Edgar Allan Poe with his upcoming short film, THE IMP OF THE PERVERSE. However, he needs the help of horror fans to bring his vision of the classic dark tale to life. Migliore Films is currently raising money to cover equipment, props, special effects, travel expenses, cast and crew support, craft services, post-production, and festival entry costs for this truly independent short film project with a unique Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign.
Migliore invites horror fans, Poe aficionados and indie film supporters to contribute to the production with a variety of tiers of investment suitable for any budget. Perks range from personalized thank yous (at the $5.00 “Poe Patron” level) to producer credit to the opportunity to star in your own custom-made short film for a donation of $1,000 or more. If the film meets its flexible $5,000 goal, the producers vow to produce a second Poe short film and every backer will receive the same perks and screen credit on that film at no extra cost. As of this writing, THE IMP OF THE PERVERSE has met 21% of its goal with just over a month left in the campaign.
Featuring a script by Migliore and fan favorite Bill Oberst Jr. (who is also slated to star in the film), THE IMP OF THE PERVERSE is based on Poe’s 1850 short story about a murderer whose seemingly perfect crime is undone by his own inexplicable self-destructive impulses.
