Ask anyone who’s ever been – Spooky Empire is a horror fan’s dream come true. From ballrooms packed wall-to-wall with celebs to a vendor hall stocked with one-of-a-kind gifts from some of the most recognized brands in the game today, the annual conventions have been setting the standard for horror cons for better than 20 years. This year’s event will continue that trend, but there’s another great reason to make plans to attend: RUE MORGUE’s Executive Editor Andrea Subissati will be on hand, slingin’ mags and hosting panels.

From October 11th – 13th at the Hyatt Regency Resort in Orlando, FL, attendees can visit the RUE MORGUE booth and snap a pic with Andrea herself, as well as attend the Q & A’s she’s hosting over the three-day event.

Panels include:

  • Friday, October 11th, 7:00 – 8:00 pm: Q & A with the Soska Sisters
  • Saturday, October 12th, 3:00 – 4:00 pm: Q & A with Rosanna Arquette
  • Sunday, October 13th, 2:00 – 3:00 pm: Interview with the Cast of Fright Night

Other guests currently booked to appear include Doug Bradley (Hellraiser), Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters) and – in one of his final convention appearances – the legendary Clive Barker. In-between scoring autographs, attendees can get some ink of their own from one of the many skilled tattoo artists on hand. There’ll also be a film festival, tabletop gaming room, meet-and-greets with indie authors and so much more jam-packed into the weekend!

Tickets are still available, and be sure to save a few bucks by buying in advance at Spooky Empire’s website.

Ever since watching CREEPSHOW as a child, Kevin Hoover has spent a lifetime addicted to horror (and terrified of cockroaches). He wholeheartedly believes in the concept of reanimating the dead if only we’d give it the old college try, and thinks FRIDAY THE 13th PART V is the best in the franchise. Aside from writing “Cryptid Cinema Chronicles” for Rue Morgue, he’s been a working copywriter for over a decade and you’ve probably bought something with his words on it. He also believes even the worst movie can be improved with buckets of gore.
