A major name from the genre realm will headline the latest in the Paramount horror franchise.

Variety reports that Lupita Nyong’o is in final talks to star in A QUIET PLACE: DAY ONE, the third in the hit horror series, which is set for Paramount release March 8, 2024. Michael Sarnoski (PIG) is writing and will direct the movie, which will presumably dramatize the events of the first day the sound-sensitive, human-hunting alien creatures arrive on Earth, based on an idea by John Krasinski, who directed the initial two QUIET PLACEs and starred in the first. Nyong’o previously sparked Oscar talk with her starring role in Jordan Peele’s US and starred in the zombie comedy LITTLE MONSTERS, and has also appeared in several STAR WARS titles and the Marvel blockbuster BLACK PANTHER, as well as its soon-to-open sequel BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER.
