Speculation about who will portray the adult Beverly Marsh in IT: CHAPTER TWO can come to an end, as one of the two most-mentioned possibilities now seems poised to sign on.

Variety reports that Jessica Chastain is in talks to play Beverly in the second of the IT film duo, which is set to roll this summer for release September 6, 2019. Although many remarked on the striking resemblance between Sophia Lillis, who played young Beverly in the first IT, and Amy Adams, Chastain has a history with that film’s directing/producing team of Andy and Barbara Muschietti, having toplined their 2013 hit MAMA. Andy is expected to return to guide CHAPTER TWO, though his deal, like Chastain’s, hasn’t been finalized. Gary Dauberman will script IT: CHAPTER TWO, with no other casting announced as of now, though the Muschiettis have expressed an interest in having the young cast of the previous movie return for flashbacks.
