LONG LIVE THE KING! “KING ON SCREEN” TRAILER EXPLORES THE CINEMATIC TREATMENT OF A LITERARY GIANT

Aside from being the most popular horror author of all time, Stephen King is also among the most adapted writers of the last century. To date, over 50 filmmakers have brought King’s novels and short stories to life on film and television, with results varying from misguided schlock to Academy Award-winning classics.

In her new documentary, KING ON SCREEN, filmmaker Daphné Baiwir dives deep into the ongoing phenomenon of King adaptations with the directors who met the challenge of bringing the legendary author’s work to visual media. Featuring in-depth interviews with Frank Darabont, Mick Garris, Greg Nicotero, Mike Flanagan, Tom Holland and many others, KING ON SCREEN is sure to be required viewing for the Maine-born writer’s legions of “constant readers.” Check out the trailer below.

KING ON SCREEN arrives in theaters on August 11,  with a release VOD and Blu-Ray to follow on September 8.
