If you’re into short horror, the folks at ALTER have you covered.  Rue Morgue wants to make sure you’re up-to-date on all of the cool stuff they have coming up, so each month we’ll be highlighting their upcoming releases.  Take a look at what they have planned for July 2022:

Angel (July 5)
Director: Dicky Chalmers
When a girl goes back to a guy’s house following a dating app hook-up, she becomes suspicious of his true intentions after discovering his obsession with cooking ramen broth, and a strange AI digital assistant called Angel.

The Retreat (July 7)
Director: Marcus Anthony Thomas
What do you do when the man who killed your child roams the streets freely? When you can´t shake the pain or the anger from your bones. What do you do? Nothing. You sit back and you move on. That’s how society works. But what if there was a place that could help you, not to move on, but to move through? A place that could take that man, that murderer, and present him to you on a silver platter. Would you do the unthinkable?

Banshee (July 12)
Director: Matt Ditko
A string of bizarre missing person cases leads two troubled teenagers to investigate their town’s forbidden forest where Steve plays one final prank on his little sister Joanne before disappearing for good. The solo journey to find her brother becomes a terrifying voyage through the heart of darkness as the forest comes to life stalking Jo’s every turn.

Hysteric (July 14)
Director: Rod Blackhurst
A mysterious sound, a mother stricken with madness, and two daughters caught in a fight for survival.

Helsinki Mansplaining Massacre (July 19)
Director: Ilja Rautsi
An intensely hysterical horror comedy about one woman’s desperate struggle to survive a horde of men with frail egos, who just want to explain everything to her. But the biggest horror may be closer to her than she thinks.

Death in Charge (July 21)
Director:
Devi Snively
An impatient single mom leaves her nine year old daughter, Whitney, with Death, carelessly mistaking the dark-cloaked, scythe-carrying Reaper for her tardy babysitter. Whitney teaches Death about life’s many marvels through violent video games, macaroni and cheese and the magic of Sea Munkees. But when Whitney reveals some dark tendencies of her own, it’s up to Death to lighten things up before returning to its grim duties.

Clan (July 26)
Director: Claudia Lee
Following a sudden death in her family, a woman travels to her mother’s childhood home in rural Scotland, seeking closure. While there she discovers her family were part of an ancient pagan community. Things turn darkly sinister when they try to recruit her.

The Last Time I Saw Richard (July 28)
Director: Nicholas Verso
Jonah is proud to be the loner at the teenage mental health clinic, taking pleasure in making the other patients uncomfortable. But when he is forced to share a room with the newly admitted Richard, the boys become locked in a battle of wills.
