Highland Film Group has just announced that Jeffrey Dean Morgan, best known to horror fans for his role as Negan on AMC’s long-running The Walking Dead, now in its final season, and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, the young actor who played the role of Miles in Netflix’s The Haunting of Bly Manor, are set to star in the upcoming supernatural thriller, FELIX. John Carnahan (Hulu’s Boss Level, Open Road’s The Grey) and Jayson Therrien (FX’s Fargo,  Netflix’s Black Summer) will produce.

Written by Casey Giltner and directed by John Kissack (Everfall), the film is set to start principal photography this spring.

Ainsworth will play Charlie, an aspiring young filmmaker who is making his first horror movie with his best friend Jimmy.  When Charlie’s Dad (Morgan) finds an old ventriloquist doll named Felix among his late mother’s belongings, they immediately cast Felix as the creepy antagonist in their movie. Felix, however, is not what he appears to be. Soon, a  series of bizarre and terrifying events unfolds and it’s up to Charlie and Jimmy to rid the family of the sinister entity that they have awakened.

No release date has been set for FELIX. Check back with Rue Morgue as details develop. We’re keeping an eye on this one!
