We’re willing to wait a year to see the WITCH/LIGHTHOUSE filmmaker’s take on a horror classic.

Focus Features has announced that it will release the new NOSFERATU December 25, 2024. Written and directed by Robert Eggers, it stars Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult (fresh off another DRACULA variant, RENFIELD), Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, Simon McBurney and Willem Dafoe (who played original NOSFERATU star Max Schreck in SHADOW OF THE VAMPIRE). This “gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake” is the second reimagining of the 1922 silent landmark directed by F.W. Murnau, joining Werner Herzog’s equally celebrated 1979 Klaus Kinski-starrer NOSFERATU THE VAMPYRE.

“The audacious filmmaking of Robert Eggers is always a gift for fans, and we can promise that his Nosferatu is planning quite the Christmas feast,” says Focus Features chairman Peter Kujawski.
