Filling out its slate for the summer, genre specialist IFC Midnight has set release dates for a trio of fright films, including the latest from the scripter of GOTHIKA and SNAKES ON A PLANE.

That would be ELIZABETH HARVEST (pictured above), written and directed by Sebastian Gutierrez and coming to select theaters and VOD August 10. This Gothic sci-fi thriller stars Abbey Lee, Ciaran Hinds, Carla Gugino, Matthew Beard and Dylan Baker; the synopsis: “Newlywed Elizabeth [Lee] arrives with her brilliant scientist husband Henry [Hinds] to his magnificent estate, where he wows her with lavish dinners and a dazzling tour of the property. The house staff, Claire [Gugino] and Oliver [Beard], treats her deferentially but she can’t shake the feeling something is off. Henry explains that everything in his world now belongs to her, all is for her to play in—all except for a locked-off room he forbids her from entering. When he goes away for business, Elizabeth decides to investigate and finds she may not be who she thinks she is at all.”

July 27 sees the release of OUR HOUSE, directed by Anthony Scott Burns (HOLIDAYS) from a screenplay by Nathan Parker (MOON). Thomas Mann, Percy Hynes White, Kate Moyer and Nicola Peltz star in this remake of Matt Osterman’s festival favorite GHOST FROM THE MACHINE (a.k.a. PHASMA EX MACHINA). It focuses on a young inventor (Mann) raising his two younger siblings following the death of their parents; a machine he creates appears to give them the ability to communicate with their deceased folks, but also attracts unfriendly spirits. Earlier in the month, on July 13, IFC Midnight releases THE DEVIL’S DOORWAY (pictured below), from Irish director Aislinn Clarke and scripted by Clarke, Martin Brennan and Michael B. Jackson. Set in 1960, it follows a pair of priests into a home for unwed mothers where they believe they’ll witness a miracle, and discover instead that one of the women is possessed by Satan.
